A GALAXY BUILT INSIDE FOUR WALLS.
Created during the isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic, Milkyway Diaries transforms confinement into an imagined journey through deep space—an audiovisual escape carried by rhythm, atmosphere and memory.
Escape Velocity
Milkyway Diaries began in 2020, during the enforced isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic. With everyday movement suddenly restricted and the outside world reduced to something observed from a distance, Gelingarcia turned toward one of the few creative disciplines he had not yet explored: music.
The project was conceived as a form of psychological departure. If the body could not travel, sound could construct another territory—one in which the mind and senses might temporarily detach from the anxiety, repetition and enclosed reality of confinement. Deep space became both destination and metaphor: an immeasurable landscape offering distance from a world that had become unexpectedly small.
Across six tracks, the EP unfolds as an imagined galactic itinerary. Planets, rings, winds and meteor showers become emotional environments rather than subjects of scientific description. Each composition occupies a different atmosphere, moving between contemplation, rhythm, weightlessness and melancholy. Together, they form a journey whose geography exists entirely through sound.
The predominantly instrumental voyage is interrupted by Neptune Blues, the EP’s only vocal composition. Written by Gelingarcia and performed in collaboration with Spanish singer Andrea MG, the track introduces a recognisably human voice into an otherwise distant cosmos—bringing solitude, longing and emotional gravity into the centre of the journey.
Following Gelingarcia’s multidisciplinary approach, the project extended beyond music. He created the album artwork, wrote the lyrics for Neptune Blues, and produced its accompanying music video, allowing sound, image, text and moving image to inhabit the same conceptual universe.
What began as a personal experiment during confinement ultimately became a project about imagination as a form of movement. Milkyway Diaries proposes that escape does not always require a physical destination: sometimes an entire galaxy can be constructed inside a room.

Neptune Blues
In the darkness
I see
Pictures of my past
Blurred reflections of a life
Far gone
Now I know I feel
Empty, in a deep shade of blues
Now that you’re no longer with me
Neptune’s shining
Alone
In the pitch-black sky
Little flames start to light up
In me
(In me)
Little hopes arise,
Warming up my soul from inside
Now that you’re no longer with me
(you’re no longer with me,
With me)
Blues is starting
to fade out
And the light is back
Now my heart starts to feel
Again
Little hopes arise,
Warming up my soul from inside
Now that you’re no longer with me
And the stars will shine,
Turning up my blues into light
Now that you’re no longer with me…
